putting her mascara back in her make-up back, belle was pretty sure that she'd lost it. she chuckled to herself while taking out the creme blush to smooth along her cheeks in just the right amount. in a few minutes she'd be out the door, and going to meet up with him at the theater to actually sit down and watch a movie. she smirked to herself wondering if he really thought that she was gonna have a hard time 'controlling herself' around him. she actually wasn't sure if he knew that she was kidding about all that. probably not..
leviticus van zandt. what kind name was that? she didn't uh....'date' guys with such weird names usually, it made it better that she could at least cut his name down to something semi normal sounding like levi. it was still hard for belle to grasp that she was actually going on with him. this was all ridiculous. seriously, this was levi and her, going to a movie which could officially be written off as a date. ugh, this had worst idea ever written all over it. she just kept saying his name over and over again in her head. leviticus, leviticus, leviticus. god it sounded like he belonged in ancient greece with sparticus, achillies, patrocles.
could she really even judge? her name was avabelle. talk about parents being indecisive, they couldn't decide if they liked ava or belle better so hey, why not shove them together? hah, yeah she couldn't really even talk about names. but instead here she was, finding any reason to demean her decision to finally allot levi his date. being around levi was always fun in her own sort of way. it was well know that belle was a complete tease, especially to levi. because let's be honest, it's a lot more fun to tease people that she knew already wanted her. sure, it's not like she was a prude it's just that she's selective with the uh....'extended company' she likes to keep. not very many understood that, but its not like that was that big of a thing for her. with the kind of background that belle had, it was easy to put aside what people say if and when they knew about her parents or lack there of.
maybe that whole situation was to thank for the way she was now. no fuck that, it was definitely the reason. what better place to start off young than in manhattan? and god was it ugly but that's just the way it was in manhattan. with too much time, money, and exposure, it was easy for belle to easy her way in the nyc party scene, and get tangled within it. finding a niche to match it wasn't hard, but for every time she'd walked out the door the more she had to push the perusing image of her parents out of her mind. there was no doubt that her father wouldn't approve of the turn that she'd taken and she knew for a fact that her mother would've tried to lock her in a closet never to be released, but there was something about the feeling of the alcohol down her throat and the warmness that it gave that reminded her of coming home. she wasn't about to give that up.
but rather than choosing to dwell on things that she usually shoved to the webby back corner of her personal closet, belle smoothed over her shirt one last time with a look in the mirror. running a hand through her hand she flipped her bangs over before huffing, and grabbing her clutch from her dresser and her car keys. slipping on her shoes, belle was quick to exit her dorm room, and jet off in the creepy hollow creek night. in fact, the way the darkness fell around the outside of her dormitory caused a bit of fear to rise in the pit of belle's stomach as she hurried her feet along to the jeep waiting for her idly in the parking lot. frantically her eyes peered around her, as she slid into the seat of her car, easily starting it up and slithering her way out of the parking lot. it didn't take long for her to make it into the busier part of hollow creek town where the movie theater was located and luckily for her she didn't have to spend that much time looking for parking as she saw a black audi pulling out of a spot down the street just in time for her slide in.
heels clicking against the sidewalk, belle clutched at her purse as she gained feet towards the theater. stopping in front of the ticket booth belle's eyes peered over the area seeing plenty of people but no levi just yet. she was a little early, it was 6:55. it'd only be a matter of time before he showed up, but for now she'd just have to wait for him. funny how the tables turned.

his face felt naked. just totally, totally naked. of course, this was an exaggeration, but levi wasn't going to admit to it, it was the first time in a few days that he'd actually shaved, purely out of laziness and the fact he didn't have to leave the house all that much since he still hadn't dragged his ass to university, but it was the first time in a couple years his face had been completely clean shaven - his soul patch was gone. his beloved soul patch was gone. he looked in the mirror rubbing the naked spot and furrowing his heavy eyebrows, he'd actually shaved it off. he'd told belle he would but that was more of a like "oh, yeah, totally, i'll get right on that" kind of sarcasm, something he really hadn't intended on doing, it was his soul patch. at this point it was like his signature. which was probably the lamest thing in the world, but whatfuckingever. he was still a little to shocked that he'd actually even done it to worry about anything but that, he hadn't even gone on the date he'd been bugging her for forever and he was already whipped? what kind of bullshit was that? "levi! where's my striped jacket!" he sighed a little, it was time to switch back to big brother mode, or what had really just become parent mode, "i don't know thiz, did you try the hall closet?" he asked stepping out of the bathroom as her and her thick black curls bounced by him, he watched her run down the hallway and he smiled a little as she freaked out about her first middle school slumber party with what she had decidedly called "the popular girls". or at least that was pretty sure he'd gotten through the squealing as she'd hung up the phone that afternoon. "it's not there!" he heard her whine, "i need that jacket!" it was like her first day back at school all over again, he was not looking forward to thisbe moving into this more self-conscious stage, make-up, curling her hair fussing over everything she wore. he headed down the hall, making a left to see some jackets flying from the closet, "come on, is that really necessary?" he asked pausing a little as she stuck her head out behind the door and glared at him, "...apparently so." he muttered, taking a step back, "look, try the den or living room or something and i'll take care of this." he said reaching over and tapping her head as she walked by flinching back from her slapping his hand away, "my hair!" oh he was so out of his depth now, taking care of the little tomboy who only wanted to colour, play in the back yard and climb trees was easy. he pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed before he started picking up the abandon winter coats and shoved them haphazardly back in the closet, hearing her elated "found it!" he grinned a little shutting the door and heading towards the kitchen, where her school stuff was still spread out across the table. grabbing a granola bar he ripped the package open taking a bite of it before he started pushing together the papers strew across the table smiling at the amount of a's he saw on the graded papers and tucking them in a book the he put back in her bag, looking up as she stepped into the kitchen, "why are you messing with my stuff?" he demanded, "hey, attitude," he warned zipping the bag and holding it out to her, "you don't have to go... put that on the hook in your room where it belongs, and your room better be clean, i'm going to get really irritated if i check once you've gone and it's a shithole." it was a technique he'd mastered with his mom and even his dad when he actually cared about being a parents, thisbe got an almost smug smirk and shook her head, "if i don't go, you don't go on your date," she replied, before her attitude turned sour, "because apparently i still need a babysitter." levi chuckled, "then i'll just drop you off at marnie's place." he said returning her smirk as he kissed the top of his head, "hurry up, we've both got to go soon."
unlike thisbe he didn't really need three hours to get ready to spend a night out, admittedly he'd spent a little more time fussing then he'd like and he'd actually changed twice, not able to find the right line between too formal and too casual before he just went back to his staple outfit of jeans and a white t shirt, which he'd spiced up plaid t-shirt. that was the good thing about something as casual as a movie, he didn't have to try too hard, this time it wasn't laziness kicking in it was just him not knowing. he'd never, ever been a dater. ever. it hadn't really been his style, there was juliet and a girl or two here and there but they hadn't really lasted long. of course, his relationship with juliet had dissolved with the death of his mother, which had turned him into a grade a asshole. all of his relationships had suffered with his mother's death, but that had been one he'd felt the worst about, they had both not been fans of dating and he'd kind of proved all her notions right. before that all he'd never had the time to date, he'd been taking care of his mom, his sister, and then there had been school and baseball practices and games on top of all that, without his mom dead you'd have thought it would've cleared up a shitton of time, but he still ran on a different schedule, he still had his sister to look after and all of his free time was when she was at school, and that's when his friends were at school, on weekends he was stuck waiting at dance classes, riding lessons, math tutor, tennis lessons... sure, marnie was always there for them, but they were the only steady babysitting job she ever had, so of course she was good to them, it didn't hurt that he probably paid her a little less then two times what most babysitters got. fact was, it wasn't his money, it was his dads and since his dad was so opposed to paying for a baby sitter levi was going to make good and sure he was going to be unwittingly paying through the nose for one. the baby sitter thing was probably the only reason levi hadn't been kicked out yet. he knew his dad hated him, they constantly butted heads and as his aunt had told him, levi was just too much like his mother.
levi hated the comparison but he knew it was true, knew that is was becoming more and more true as it was getting rarer and rarer for him to get up in the morning without a hangover. he wasn't an alcoholic yet - or at least he was still in denial if he was one - but it definitely wasn't too far off. which was kind of pathetic, hitting alcoholic status before he'd even reached his twenty-first birthday. even now, he knew that he had a problem but it didn't stop him from turning over the small bottle of jack daniels in his hand, the one he kept next his bed, his last minute reserve, it was half empty, he started at the bottle for a few moments more until a knock on his door started him, "levi, i'm finally ready..." he tossed the bottle on to his bed, "about time" feeling a little weird that he hadn't at least taken a quick swig before he grabbed his leather jacket and his keys and headed out his door to find thisbe not there, but heading back to her room shutting the door with a snap, "thisbe, what are you doing? we gotta goooo, neither of us can be late!?" he said looking down at his watch, a rolex his father had given him for his eighteenth birthday. "just a minute, i changed my mind!" was her muffled, exasperated reply, "you looked fine with that little... bolero thing.. and the stuff..." yeah, so out of his league, "you don't know what i was wearing, i changed again!" levi rolled his eyes and shook his head, "whatever doodlebug, just hurry up. i really can't be late, you know tiffany's mom is going to tant to talk to me forever and i don't have the time today." he said as he headed downstairs, shoving his wallet into his pocket from the kitchen counter and gathering up her things and putting them in the backseat of his father's jetta that was left behind as he'd flown out to miami this weekend for something, probably a vacation he didn't want levi and thiz interrupting. he headed back into the house as tizzy was coming down the stairs, "this okay?" she asked him, doing a twirl, "yes, you look great. are you wearing make-up?" her cheeks turned redder, "a little don't be mad..." she said looking suddenly sheepish losing the attitude she'd had earlier, "you're twelve what d-" he paused and shook his head, "you look beautiful," he said instead, grinning at the smile she gave him before she rushed past him to the car. he could not handle this her being a girl thing.
he rushed a little faster then her normally would've with her in the car but they arrived at the aged victorian house, one of the older but more expensive houses in their neighborhood, pulling up easily to the curb and helping her get her stuff out, "stay here," she demanded, "but-" tiz shook her head, "i'll just tell her you had something do, you're going to be late, seriously. you need a girlfriend." she said, with a smile, and he shook his head, "you need to stop hanging out with delilah," he said giving her a hug, he leaned against the cr for a moment as she ran up the path, "have fun doodlebug!" he called walking around the car, "stop calling me that! i'm not seven anymore, you know!" she tossed over her shoulder as he opened his car door and she knocked on the door of the house, he watched until the door opened and she stood inside waving at the mom before he drove off, giving it his normal speed and a little extra catching the time, he had three minutes to make a seven or eight minute drive. "fantastic," he muttered under his breath taking the rain slicked streets too fast. finally hitting the road to the theatre he was forced to slow down a little bit, no need to get pulled over and make himself really late. he managed a spot across the street from the theatre and he sprinted across quickly as the traffic cleared and he grinned seeing belle there, he was only two or three minutes late. "hey, i'm sorry," he said, as he walked up to her, "i was dropping my sister off at a slumber party and she changed clothes like thirty times," he said with a chuckle, "she's killing me..." he let his eyes trail over her for a moment, "you look beautiful, by the way." he said, giving her a smile, "you ready? i already bought the tickets ahead of time," he said pulling the folded printed papers from his pocket, "just in case, something like this should happen." he said, feeling a little bad he was late even if it wasn't by longer then five minutes.
