---Bristol furrowed her brows, the writing on the paper in front of her becoming less and less legible with each passing second she stared it down. her father should've been a doctor, only doctors were allowed such lousy penmanship. bri puzzled over the paper in her hand for a moment longer, pulling her bright red bottom lip between her teeth before she finally shook her head, this is what interns were for, right? not much above an intern herself she should've felt bad, but considering she still had a few hours of studying left once she got home, her eyesight was more important at the moment. pushing back from the desk in her rather boring and unadorned cubicle she looked for one of the three interns covering the office her father had stuck her in. a slender girl with hair curlier then her brother's stepped into her line of vision and while she couldn't remember her name the brunette was one of the few people who knew who bristol's father was and generally unnecessarily chipper and helpful to bristol, right now she was going to exploit this brown nosing. as a general rule being the bosses daughter had more downfalls then it did perks, which was why she'd tried to keep it as quite as possible. she'd learned quickly that an office was much like a high school, all it took was his secretary saying to her once "your dad needed to see you in his office," in the presence of one person - the copy boy, no less - and it was pretty much all over by lunch. which meant most people didn't take her seriously, thought she was another spoiled kid that begged daddy for a job or was forced into it because she was either going nowhere or travis thought she needed a babysitter, then there was the more annoying group that walked on eggshells around her. bristol had earned the job, her dad had always been unfairly fair with her and her brother since they were kids, mostly because their mother was too lenient. the longer they'd lived with him after the divorce the less strict he'd become.
---Watching the intern turn away from her, bristol's chocolate eyes sweeped past hunter, before she pulled them back for a second, he's one of the newbies that they'd hired about a month and a half back, and while she hadn't paid him much attention the first couple weeks he'd been there thanks to her near manic state trying to balance a mid-term studying and helping organize her father's business trip. when the dust had settled, they'd made quick friends. the same snarky sense of humour easily breaking the ice. it was a welcome thing in an office so polarized on their opinion of her. she didn't know if he knew about her connection to travis, but she wasn't keen on bringing it up, and she appreciated him not bringing it up if he did know. glancing down to her phone and a quick assessment of the pile of work left to be done, she vacillated over it for a moment, before deciding that maybe today she shouldn't skip lunch. was it sad that he was honestly the deciding factor? probably, but given she'd spent more lunches working then she actually did eating she figured it was okay, she enjoyed having a sort-of friend in the office, they were pretty much the youngest people there, apart from the interns who half the time were too scared to move let alone strike up a conversation with over a bagel. running a hand through her hair, she walked to the break room where she could see him through the glass, book in hand, and she tried to ignore - as she always did - how unfairly attractive he was. she was used to the pimply interns and aging, plump men that traipsed around, the grey haired business associates. she wasn't the kind to get distracted easily by boys, dating had never been her thing thanks to one disastrous relationship in her teens. it wasn't too much of an issues either, attractive in her own right she was always overshadowed by her vivacious best friend who on her worst day still looked like she stepped straight from a magazine, she easily monopolized everyone's attentions, something bristol was more then glad to give her. she gave hunter a side long look as she entered, "a hot nooner with salinger again?" she questioned as she poured herself some coffee, her tone taking on the dry sarcasm that was common between them already, "keep it up and you'll be the talk of the office. a bigger scandal even then susan boning the guy who pushes the mail cart." she quipped, sitting across from him, brow slightly arched as she smiled at him before she took a sip of her coffee, a softer, content smile slipping over her lips, nothing made her happier then coffee.

IT REALLY WASNT turning out to be the most productive morning. given that he’d spent most of the previous night tending to a sick ten year old, it really wasn’t all that surprising. but it wasn’t the sleep deprivation that was stopping him from getting work done, heavy amounts of caffeine had soon cured that, it was the numerous phone calls he’d received either from the twins, who had stayed home to keep in eye on cleo, or cleo herself, mostly to complain about the twins, which definitely wasn’t making him feel at ease about leaving them to look after her. with his uncle away and his sister nowhere to be found he hadn’t had much choice. he probably should have called in sick, looking back now it would have been the smarter thing to do, would have saved himself a lot of worry, but given he’d only been at this job a little over a month, he didn’t want to anything that might jeopardize it. It wasn’t the most exciting job in the world, but it paid good, and the experience he gained working for a company like this could certainly help him out in the future, and he had big plans. running his own company was the ultimate goal, and this was one of the steps in getting there, so getting fired a month in was definitely not an option. Staring idly at the computer screen he sighed, this was going to be a long day, distracted he took a few moments to notice his phone ringing, grabbing it out from where it had managed to get buried in some papers he found it was his uncle ringing to let him know he’d gotten an earlier flight and was at home, which was a relief to hear. Hanging up he turned back to the computer, more relaxed now, and managed to get in decent amount of work in before it was time for lunch, not nearly as much as he would have normally had done by now, but he could be somewhat of a workaholic, and set himself high standards. Still, he was content enough to allow himself a break, and standing up, stretched out muscles stiff from sitting in one position too long, grabbed his book, his lunch, and headed towards the break room.
IT WAS EMPTY when he got there, which didn’t worry him in the least, in fact, in some ways he preferred it, it wasn’t that he was antisocial, but sometimes he just wanted to be able to eat and read his book in peace, or the hassle of pretending to care while some of them prattled on about the most uninteresting things, gossip mostly, which he flat ignored as best he could, not the easiest task in the world, but something he was sure he would soon learn to perfect. Perhaps it was rude not to at least try and be a little more invested in the lives of the people he worked with day in and day out, but to be quite honest, he had enough going on in his own life to have room for more. Settling himself in the chair furthest from the door, he took a bite out of the sandwich he’d brought for lunch and flipped open his book, quickly becoming absorbed in it, enough that he didn’t hear anyone come in, until a familiar female voice broke the silence, he almost jumped, but recovered quickly, a smile spreading across his lips as he looked up to find bristol, one of the few people in the office he’d like to get to know better. Not only was she gorgeous, but she was smart, and sassy and had a similar sense of humor, “you know, he has a name” he teased, his expression mock reproving, “besides, that girls a maneater, kid didn’t stand a chance
[/i]” he added, his gaze returning absently to the book in front of him, it really wasn’t as interesting as it had been a few minutes ago. Leaning back into his chair, he closed the book and put it down on the table, “ and I’d hardly call that a scandal. These people need some more excitement in their lives” he added, shaking his head. ---At some point bristol figured she'd have to realize that she was putting too much stress on herself, she could throw herself into university and her job no problem, but when you threw in trying to help manage her father's personal life, and be there for her friends, mostly notably her slightly insane best friend who was always finding herself in some sort of drama, things started to get tough. she thrived on the stress though, the hectic pace, living in los angeles and then moving to new york city would do that to you. those cities never stopped moving, an intense prep school and busy social calendar thanks to her mother made sure bristol was always doing something, keeping her busy in hopes that it'd keep the mischievous girl out of trouble. new york bristol would've thought this bristol was a total drag, giving into the more boring expectations of their world. she'd consider it a simple reorganizing of priorities, boys and parties were good for paris hilton, but that wasn't the legacy bristol was exactly interested in. fashion was forefront in bristol's brain, always, she'd grown up backstage at fashion shows her whole life, watched her mother sketch and bark orders and pin fabric and bristol had fallen in love with it. simple fact was, as important as it was to dream that she could have her own line, it was just as important to have a back-up plan. working for her father was a good one, not only did this look good on her resume but it was also a test of if she could settle for this, or if she'd try to work at some sort of publishing house, maybe call in a few favours with ezekiel's family to get her foot in the door.
---Bristol grinned at him, chocolate eyes trailing over his face, a smirk threatening to form over her lips as she caught the hints of surprise dancing quickly over his features, she may not have been as scarily perceptive as her brother but she was almost as good, "sorry," the brunette began trying not to let her her tone betray any smugness at catching him by surprise, "i didn't mean to scare you." she told him, a subtle look on her face challenging him to deny that she'd caused a start. bristol let her gaze drop, with a chuckle, "i know, but honestly, and it's gonna sound horrible, i really can't remember it." names weren't really her thing, faces though, faces is what she worked with, she remembered faces really well mostly because it was what she spent most of her time studying, especially when it came to new people which gave people a mixed impression she was either stand-offish or shy, though two minutes with her upon your second meeting with her - if you hadn't been a total dick - and you'd find that it was the total opposite. "oh?" she questioned, her brow quirking, "do you speak from experience? i thought i saw a little glimmer in your eye when you looked at her the other day." she teased before taking a drink of her coffee watching him from over the rim of her cup for a moment. "scandal like.. insider trading or something a little more... carnal?" she questioned, resting her hand on the back of the chair in front of him, "mind if i sit?" she asked, eyes darting to his book for a moment, "i know what it's like to be interrupted during a good book so..." bristol's voice trailed off, for a split second she had a tiny worry he'd say no, which was dumb. she was the girl that didn't care, who didn't doubt herself or anything, especially when it came to men.
