There was pretty much nothing that could rain on her parade, like nothing. The apocalypse could occur right this very moment and she would have been okay with it, honestly, she might not have even noticed. After the fantastic day she had had thus far it was only natural that she dish to her best friend, that and she'd already made plans with the teenager. Now she'd have something super amazing fantastic to spill, Lilah couldn't even be bothered to dread the smug smile Aleks would get. It was comical really how drastic the conversation about her and Jay would be from their IM conversation the day before... Okay, how drastically different it would be on her end. Aleks had never doubted the more then platonic feelings between Lilah and Jayed, something she constantly nagged Lilah about and she was pretty sure Aleks had done the same thing to Jayden when presented the opportunity. She may have been excited about her news but she was intending on using this afternoon to figure out exactly what was wrong with Aleks too. This was probably the longest either of them had kept a secret from each other - yes, Lilah was beyond convinced there was something Aleksandra was hiding from her, it was impossible to deny. They might not have known each other for years and years but they'd pretty much bonded instantly, Aleks had become just as close to her as Jay or Dominic. Sure, she had chosen to go to Raine with the whole Jayden drama but that was simply because Aleks was simply too invested in her fairy tale, epic romance fantasy for Jay and Delilah that she couldn't have been trusted to have been objective, not that she could get much more out Raine once she'd told her who she was talking about. However that didn't really matter at this point because they both would have been right and Delilah was gloriously wrong, quite possibly the only time she would ever be content in being wrong.
Since her bike ride to the school had proved to be too uncomfortable the teenager had decided to walk to Aleks' it wasn't that much farther from the school and oddly walking hurt less then pedaling. It gave her enough time to run through the way she was going to tackle both of their news, Aleks was almost as cryptic as Delilah sometimes and it was always hard to figure out what was wrong with her when she was being difficult. Honestly, it was hard to say when something wasn't wrong with her. She wasn't one of those whiny girls, if she were Delilah couldn't stand to be around her, despite her laughs and smiles there always seemed to be something lurking below the surface. Not like an evil kind of lurking, like this is the girl that is just waiting for the right time to take you out, but Delilah could really only compare it to being haunted. Something had happened that Aleksandra either hadn't come to terms with or just couldn't let go, it concerned Delilah but she'd never known exactly how to ask about it. They'd only briefly talked about her past in Chicago, they never got into the why's of Aleks had been sent to live with her aunt, or much anything about her life there. Even when Delilah would try to figure it out, Aleks was quick to put her happy face back on and wave it away "I was just zoning out", "Oh nothing, just thinking". Generally if you were thinking and you were interrupted, you didn't jump fifty feet in the air and have a look of pure panic etched into your face, nobody thought that hard about something. It was behavior herself and Dominic always wondered about but never pushed Aleks into explaining, when she was ready she'd get to it. Now however it seemed Lilah was stuck in the dork, briefly she had wondered if maybe Aleks and Dominic had broken up and they were just not telling her. Which would've irritated her to no end, even if they were doing it to keep her our of the middle and from choosing sides. This theory was shot out of the water when she'd seen them in the library a couple days after this idea blossomed; holding hands and being just as sicky sweet as ever. Unfortunately this display timed great with the Jay's Drunk Declaration of Love and she was less pleased then she normally would have been. At the time it was a reminder that her love life was not only barren but all kinds of messed up and turned upside down.
Lilah drew herself from her thoughts as she turned onto Aleks' street, she saw the house halfway down the block, the car gone from the driveway meaning that this was as much of a time to catch up as it was co-babysitting. Which she didn't mind in the least, she loved helping Aleks out with her niece - who was actually her cousin. They often teamed up when Delilah was given the task of babysitting her little sister Cassandra every now and then, it was a fun little outing that both girls enjoyed. Mostly because Cassie loved to treat Lissa like a little living breathing doll that was on her own. Watching Aleks with Lissa was just as enjoyable, Lissa looked at Aleks like she was the whole world and it was pretty much the same. It was a kind of devotion that she found odd outside of close family parings like siblings or parent/child. It was a kinf of affection that Lilah herself only saw rarely between Cassandra and herself, normally it was prefaced by the promise of candy or a trip somewhere. Though one time after a meet where she'd nailed a pretty technical and spectacular routine on the uneven bars, though she'd never gotten another one with such intensity from the little girl again. Lilah figured it might be different if she'd had the chance to spend as much time with Cassie as Aleks had with Lissa. Obviously they were both there since the day Cass and Lissa were born, but Delilah was much younger when Cassie was born and she was already putting in hours upon hours of training coupled with an intense school load. She spent most of her time practicing or studying and not playing around much with the new born. Now, she had the proper amount of time to devote to Cassie, but the damage had been done, per se. Skipping up the pathway to the door and ignoring the pain that hit her knee from being jarred roughly when her foot hit the pavement, she knocked on the door once before she tested the handle, at this point it was pointless to wait to come to the door. "Aleks?" She questioned, not wanting to yell until she could ascertain whether or not Lissa was down for a nap, she shut the door behind her and stepped into the small living room, seeing the TV on and the couch empty. She looked up to see Aleks coming from the kitchen with Lissa on her hip and a stain down her front, "Heyy," She said, on the verge of bursting, but frowning at the stain still, "Here, I got her, you go change." Lilah smiled and took the four or five steps across the living room to take the toddler from her, noting that Lissa had been crying before she'd showed up. "Hi mamas, how are you, huh? How are you?" She said, kissing Lissa's cheek and bouncing her on her hip.

today was a rough day; plain and simple. vasya, of course, didn't sleep the whole night and despite all the work aleks had assigned for school she had to stay up with her. it seemed like her aunt had been working nonstop and there was no way she was going to make her aunt stay up so she could take care of a fussy lissa. the lack of slap showed on aleksandra and lissa, who was possibly fussier now then she was all night. the only peace aleks had gotten all morning was the fifteen minutes lissa had fallen asleep in the middle of the living room floor playing with the silver wear she seemed to pull out of thin air, the young mother had tried to carefully pull the dangerous fork from lissa's chubby little hand and it worked for a minute or two, until she woke up screaming again and aleks hurriedly replaced it with one on the zhu zhu pets delilah had gotten her for christmas, which soothed her until the tiny yellow stuffy had fallen off her stomach, the tiny movement somehow awoke her and she took up screaming again. after that, nothing could be done to placate the child.the teen was well on her way to having a headache to rival any of the ones she'd ever had when she was hung over, which she had never thought would be possible. it was confusing enough that such a little person could make so much noise. lissa's squealing drew aleks' eyes from her the chemistry work sheet that she'd been trying to do since about eleven last night, nyet! she said, jumping up quickly from the coffee table and grabbing at the cup lissa had managed to work the top half way off. lissa's little lip trembled as she looked up at aleks, but she didn't return her daughter's forlorn look, instead she twisted the lid back on tight and handed the bottle back to her.
returning to her seat in front of the coffee table she looked up at lissa who was tossing her what could only be a sixteen month olds version of a glare, aleks snorted and returned a funny face to lissa, who quite unwillingly began to giggle. ti takaya prelesnaya! she said, russian was her primary language on the weekends, it had always been her primary language when she was at home, even when she lived with her mother, she didn't have the thick accent like her mother, grandmother or aunt, but her words weren't fully american, they lilted in odd places but they mostly sounded normal. of course mondays or the day following any extended period of time she'd spent strictly speaking russian made her accent heavier when she had to speak english again, something she had remember shocked delilah when she had called for her one sunday and confused her with her aunt. there was some debate whether lissa should first learn russian or english, aleks had voted english but her aunt had still been teaching her russian. so much that "no" brought a puzzled look from the toddler if she even bother to look up at you, but "nyet" was like an electric shock. aleks returned to her work, puzzling over the equations for maybe five minutes before lissa began to cry again. when aleks looked up she sighed, somehow lissa had managed to work the top off and this time most of it spilled on her and the carpet. she shushed lissa softy as she picked her up and the bottle, trying to hold the cup away from the toddlers hands, lest anymore be spilled around the house.
aleks had no idea how she managed to do these things, children were too difficult. she set the cup on the counter as she sat lissa on the counter next to it, reaching for a napkin and dampening it under the sink she began to wipe lissa off. not paying attention to her hands as she wiped the sticky juice from her legs, aleks gave a cry as the rest of the juice ended up on her front, with lissa awkwardly clapping with the cup on her pudgy little hands. she jumped at the knock on the door, she'd forgotten delilah was coming over, she picked lissa up who was now clean and walked out to meet lilah in the living room because no doubt she'd have come in by now, it was the same thing aleks did when she went over to lilah's. she opened her mouth to return her hello, when lilah's eyes dropped to aleks' now ruined shirt and aleks' smile broke out at her words, spasibo! she said with a sigh of relief, forgetting herself and giving her thanks in russian. she handed lissa off to lilah with a quick kiss on the toddlers cheek and ran down the hall to her room, changing into a simple maxi dress she was pretty sure actually belonged to delilah or at the very least was a gift from lilah.
she smiled as she emerged from the hall and watched lilah and vasya, now, she's being an angel. she said with a chuckle, sighing a little as she ran a hand through her hair, resting a hand on her sore back. she's been up all nice, and fussy as all get out. there was too much of a complaint in her voice, but she drew her eyes up to delilah, you look like you're in a good mood. she said, the excitement radiating off of lissa was infections and aleksandra's smile began to lose the tiredness, did they win? she asked, stepping forward to take lissa back in her arms as she leaned out to aleks' her arms wide and whining 'mat' over and over again. she kissed lissa's forehead once, before she leaned her cheek against it and looked back up to lilah. concern flickering across her features as she realized this should be the day that she told lilah about lissa, her and dominic had already kept it quite enough and she hated to keep asking him to keep it from lilah, it wasn't fair.

Delilah laughed at Aleks just a little as she walked away, she looked over at Lissa, "Your aunt and her silly words," She said shaking her head, ignoring that Lissa probably knew what it meant and it wasn't silly to her. Lilah had tried learning a few things in Russian, just for s and g's but she was no better at it then Italian. She was the shame of the family, the only one who couldn't quite grasp Italian, she didn't stress properly and her accent was thoroughly American. One evening her nonna had informed her very loudly and over everyone else's conversation at the dinner table that she should have been embarrassed she did so poorly. After that she was completely mortified and much too afraid to speak the remainder of the holidays. Sam wasn't an excellent speaker either but he did better then her, again, she could blame her gymnastics on this. Her mother didn't have the time to work with Delilah and her Italian between Lilah's rush to get her school work done and head back tot he gym for training. A little embarrassment at a family meal was nothing compared to a broken neck because you wasted time on conjugating verbs and not learning how to grip the bars properly. Taking Italian at the academy had done quite a bit to her improve her Italian plus her mom's random pop quizzes or spells of refusing to speak to her in anything but Italian and would ignore Delilah if she spoke in English. Lilah was pulled from these thoughts when Lissa's gave a squeal and a tiny hand tapped Lilah's cheek, "What?" She asked, giggling a little, "Were you not getting enough attention? Huh? Is that it?" Delilah smiled as Lissa began to ramble on, though she wasn't sure if it was part Russian or just the language all toddlers had. A few words she could pick out like doll and stuff she thought she might have heard Lissa and her Aunt use. "You sure look tired," She said to Lissa, rubbing back a girl that fell on the girls forehead, and laughing as she leaned against her shoulder and shut her eyes, "Yeah! You need sleep." Lilah smiled and kissed the baby on her cheek again before she rested her cheek against the side of her head and rocked her, judging by Aleks' earlier frazzled appearance she was pretty sure they both could use a nap.
Lilah looked up as Aleksandra's voice filled the room and she smiled a little, trying to keep the concern that she felt seeing her best friend so exhausted from her face, instead she smirked at her words, "Told you I'm her favorite aunt..." She said primly, but obviously Lissa had different ideas because as soon as she heard Aleks' voice she was up and alert again, peeking through the thick curtain of Lilah's hair at Aleks, "I am in a good mood," She said, not surprised if there were a light strawberry stain on her cheeks, Lilah nodded absently to her second question, her excitement dimming only barely, remembering the poor showing and them barely scraping by, "Yeah, they did, but only by a little bit, honestly. " She said scrunching her nose and shaking her head, by this point Lissa was done with visiting with Lilah and was now trying to pull herself across the space between Aleks and Lilah, she laughed a little and easily passed the squirming toddler to Aleks. At this point she was used to being ditched for Aleks after about the first five minutes of her visit, she was also a little better at hiding her confusion of why she used the Russian word for mother to refer to Aleks. It was just one of the tidbits of information she'd learn in the brief quest at learning a bit of Russian, the first time she'd seen it, it confused her and she wondered if maybe the website she was one was stupid, but she'd asked the Russian professor at school and confirmed that it was one of the words for mom. However she'd never really given it too much thought after that, Lissa called Oksana 'Mom' and 'Mommy', maybe it was just what they did within Aleks' family. "But first," She said, catching the look on Aleks' face, "I really need to know what' going on with you... It's driving me nuts, hun." Lilah totally grasped how irritated Jayden must of been this morning when Lilah was being so evasive, she expected much the same for Aleks, "We've both been in our own little worlds the past couple weeks and it's not cool, so seriously you need to spill." She said, mustering as much of a serious look as she could as lightly squeezed Aleks' arm.

aleksandra smiled and shook her head, this was their favorite competition, truly aleks didn't put as much effort into defending her title as favorite aunt because she wasn't lissa's aunt and that would make delilah the favorite aunt. since she was telling delilah about vasya today she was pretty sure that once the shock wore off she was totally going to triumph in the fact she had been favorite aunt all a long. or at least that's what she was hoping, she was trying to be a little less pessimistic about telling delilah since telling dom had worked out so well. having him know had helped her immensely, it had taken a small weigh off her shoulders, something she was hoping would be lighter after she told delilah, pretty sure that all the pressure would beer be off until she couldn't honest about what had led to lissa's conception. that was another problem to tackle, even though concern was still heavy in dominic's eyes every time he looked at lissa and wondered. you so aren't the favorite aunt. she said with a chuckle, watching the two with amusement, lissa got along with delilah best and then dom, she was still weary of jayden but since she could tell delilah thought he was cool with him she'd made some effort to try and like him. Aleks may have been shy now, but that hadn't always been the case, it was a learned behavior, vasya was naturally shy much like aleks' little sister had been until she hit about two.
iintrigued - that was definitely the suitable emotion at delilah's near cryptic declaration of her happiness, the subtle blush made her all the more eager to find out what was up, especially since it was such a start contrast to the past couple weeks behavior. she definitely didn't like surly, secretive delilah as much as she liked this coy, happy delilah. i'm hoping these last weeks little mystery has been solved and this is why you are so happy? she dug with a grin, a little bit of her being pushy because it was anything to keep the subject off of her longer. she tilted her eyebrows together a little, she'd know both jayden and delilah long enough to know that "only by a little bit" wasn't really all the satisfying, something pretty big must've happened for her to have still been this excited after a less then spectacular win. she was about ready to push even further for details until she saw the quick change in delilah, burying all her emotions and pulling out concern and seriousness, which meant that it was indeed very serious. you didn't get to see serious delilah unless it was something pretty drastic, aleks shifted uncomfortably, turning her face into vasya's curls and kissing the girl on the head as an excuse for her hiding. considering how well the noise of lissa had gone over with dominic she shouldn't have been so worried about delilah. this time she knew she'd manage it without tears, had it not been for arissana's little show before she might not have even cried with dominic looking back she'd felt a little ridiculous for all the crying. why can't you go first, you seem so excited! aleks tried with a grin, looking up at delilah from lissa's curls, you're glowing. and she was, and if she didn't know any better she'd say that maybe there had finally been some progress to happy ever after in jay and lilah's silly little dance of denial. the look she got from lilah proved that this wasn't going to work, she was in full on; my friends come first mode.
biting her lip, she motioned to the couch, and went to put lissa down in her playpen, glad to see that the toddlers eyes were drifting closed again and her little head swayed trying to keep it up. she grabbed one of the stuffies from the floor and the zhu zhu pets oksana and delilah had given vasya for christmas and put them all in the playpne with her, slightly amused she was already halfway asleep. why couldn't she have done that last night? aleks said softly to delilah and joining her on the couch and pulling her legs up indian style and turning to face delilah, i had to move in with my aunt two years ago because my mom kicked me out... she said, trying to stall until she actually had to admit to another friend that lissa was her child. she kicked me out because.... she sighed, she kicked me out because i was pregnant with lissa. she said with a rush of breath, pretty sure that it was a jumbled mess, she tried again, closing her eyes, her tone even and trying to be unconcerned, lissa is my daughter. even though she tried to be calm, she was suddenly shaky and she couldn't bring herself to look up at delilah, she stared down into her lap, waiting.

Delilah grinned, "Oh, yes, I am." It was a silly game and she was pretty sure that Aleks was actually the favorite aunt because well she spent all her time Lissa and took care of her when Oksana was busy with work, but it didn't stop Delilah from trying to steal the title, "You're going to have to accept defeat one day, my dear. You might as well do it now before it's gets too embarrassing." Delilah got a smirk as she saw Aleks puzzling over the meaning behind her words, pretty much Del was about ready to burst out with what had happened, she was still a little shocked by it all and was wondering if telling it to Lissa, her best friend would make things more real for her. But she'd really been so wrapped up in herself for the past couple of weeks she was feeling like a terrible best friend and considering Aleks' normal mood swings she should have been a little less self-centered and tried to dig deeper into what was wrong Aleks. Guilt would have made it impossible for her to put herself again and share her news now, "Yes, but I want to know about you first.." She said in what she hoped was a stern tone, not that Lilah had a stern or serious bone in her body, outside of when she was gearing up for meet but since it'd have been so long since she'd done gymnastics - going against her physical therapists wishing and trying stuff anyway didn't count - whatever had made her serious had faded from disuse. Lilah nodded, she was excited, but she was determined now to get the story from Aleks, she fixed Aleks with an expectant look that clearly said it didn't matter what she said at this point she was going to give it up. Despite this, she still blushed a little at Aleks' words, this whole being a girly girl thing was lame, now she knew why she'd never bothered with it. Though she couldn't' complain about the butterflies it gave her and how insanely giddy she felt, she might should've tried this a long, long time ago.
A little triumphant smirk turned her lips and she all but skipped to the couch, settling herself on the cushion, logs crossed under her and she watched Aleks take care of Lissa, grinning a little; Aleks was such a little mom. There was no doubt that when their time for kids came along Delilah was going to be calling Aleks all the time for help though her mom said that she'd worried about the same thing but instincts took over and you just knew. Still, she had her doubts. She gave a soft laugh at Aleks' words and shrugged, "Would you have gotten any sleep anyways?" She questioned, Delilah made it no secrets she was disappointed with Aleksandra's sleeping habits, and the amount of nightmares she woke up with, not just because on the rare chance they got a sleep over Aleks would wake Delilah up on accident. She was pretty sure there was something deeper in those two, that explained her jumpiness and everything else, but again it was one of those things she didn't want to force Aleks to tell her until she was ready, who knew how bad it was and if talking about it before she was ready would've made things worse. As Aleks sat in front of Lilah reached forward and grabbed her hands, scooting a little closer. Lilah nodded, a little impatient with this useless bit on info, she was already aware that she'd been kicked out, sure she didn't know why but still. Aleks' next attempt at speech didn't come out much better it was a rushed breath sentence that Lilah couldn't have discerned if she'd recorded it and played it over and over. "Honey, you can tell me anything, I'm your best friend.." She said squeezing Aleks' hand. As much as she hated to admit it Aleks' words really didn't shock her as much as they should have, it all made sense. It made perfect, perfect sense. It wasn't to say that she thought Aleks was some kind of slut, but that kind of devotion to her niece, it didn't make sense from someone their age, no matter how much the family member that they were the supposed daughter of. It also brought back a conversation she'd had with her mother who had one day told Delilah she thought Lissa was Aleks' daughter, which Delilah had laughed and shook her head at insisting her best friend was not a whore and too smart to get pregnant even if she were having sex with anyone.
Those words made her feel guilty, Aleks did not seem like that type of girl to be promiscuous, and yes, too smart to not take measures to prevent pregnancy. Surely this was an accident, not that anyone got pregnant on purpose at their age. A thought occurred to her, which given the circumstances should not have been her first reaction but this was Delilah, "Told you I was the favorite aunt!" She gave in an excited whisper, a soft smile on her lips as she looked down at Aleks, before a little bit of worry fell on her face, "Please tell me Dominic knows and thats why you guys have been so weird, I don't want to have to keep this from him... I mean I will if you ask me too, but I... " She shook her head, keeping the whole Jayden thing from Dom had made her sick enough but this made her feel queasy all over, "But oh my gosh... You're a mom. I mean I've always thought you were a mom, but you're a real mom." She gave a light chuckle, "Aw, honey, why did you keep this secret from me for so long? You could have told me..." She said, shaking her head a little, tables turned she might have kept it a secret too though, especially since her first thoughts when her mother had brought it up with her was saying "Aleks wasn't a whore like that."

aleksandra smiled, slightly amused that today would definitely be the day she gave delilah the title of favorite aunt because aleks was no longer going to be pretending to be liss' aunt anymore. i think i've got a little more fight left in me, you wait. she teased, running a hand through her disheveled hair, before she sighed at delilah's next words. there was no way she was going to ever get out of this, delilah was just too stubborn and honestly it's the swift kick in the ass aleks needed, she had to stop being a chicken. still she couldn't help but think about how much arissana had thrown a wrench in things, she wouldn't be having to do this if aris had never shown up. who knows how long she would've kept this up, who knew how long it would take before it just would've eventually got out. she'd led a relatively obscure social life, nobody really paid attention to her, most of the attention she got that wasn't from, dominic, jayden or delilah was from all of delilah's friends that would say hi to aleks because they didn't want to be rude when they were talking to delilah. she was totally fine fading into social obscurity, she welcomed it even, she'd done the miss popularity thing once already; she'd had her fill. aleks' lips turned down at delilah's question but she shrugged too, probably not. i had a lot of work... she sighed, i wasn't all that tired until about noon anyways, she lied trying to play it off as she sat on the couch, bringing her hands forward as delilah reached for them. she felt like she was on the edge of a building about to jump and delilah was either going to catch her or let her fall to the ground, she may not as been as nervous telling delilah as she had dom, but there was so much more swirling in her that day.
today there wasn't much fear and she was just as afraid of losing delilah as she had been dom, but having him be cool with him gave her a hope that delilah would be just as go with the flow about it, it might have been a false hope but aleks was going o cling to it, it was the only thing that she had at this point. i know, i know. she said, this isn't.. cheating on a test or having a crush on someone. though finally the truth was out there and her words hung in the air between them, she was more or less surprised to find that there wasn't really a lot of shock on delilah's face, tables turned aleks wasn't sure she'd be shocked either. not to say she'd ever expect it of delilah but with the way she acted with lissa it would really make sense, it was more shocking that no one had figure it out before this. aleks grinned as delilah spoke, and she was pretty sure she felt like crying and not bad crying but so incredibly relived and happy crying, yes, you are the favorite aunt. she said with a chuckle, shaking her head, this is why she loved delilah, you are so insane, i love you... she said, he breath coming a little easier now. aleks nodded quickly, feeling a little bad and her face turning apologetic, i asked him not to tell you.. i'm so sorry but i thought i should be the one to tell you, i really wanted to and you were just... so out there these past couple weeks, i didn't want to... stress you more or anything... which was honestly lame reasoning, mostly it was her procrastinating, dominic was in an uncomfortable position having to keep it from delilah. she chuckled, yeah, i'm a real mom. aleks frowned, it's generally not the first thing you say to someone, 'hi, i'm aleksandra, oh by the way i have a kid. yeah i know i'm fifteen, but oh well.' she shook her head, plus i didn't want people to knw and i had always intended to tell you and dom but it's been over a year at this point i just... it was never the right time, i guess.

Lilah sighed at Aleks, "You're such a crappy liar. You are always tired." Lilah wasn't one of those people who fell asleep immediately, but she'd never had trouble sleeping, even when she was in the hospital after the accident, she was pretty sure that might have had something to do with the pain killers they'd loaded her up on. Even after when she was home with the awkward sleeping arrangement she'd slept fine, but Aleks constantly look like she never had any sleep. Lilah was pretty sure that wasn't all to do with Vasilisa's odd sleeping habits being a toddler. Delilah frowned, "It doesn't matter if you killed someone or your running a sweatshop out of your basement, or your heavy in black-market trading of mythical creatures, " Delilah laughed a little, happy to see it earner her a small smile, "Seriously though, kid, you can tell me anything, no matter what." It was Delilah's job as a best friend, to listen to Aleks and to be there for her no matter what and it was just who she was as a person, her friends were what kept her going, she'd do anything for them. Lilah laughed, "I love you too, Sha-nae-nae." She said with a giggle, reaching forward and hugging her, "Why wouldn't I be so excited about beating you in the favorite aunt competition?" She asked before pulling back from her and rubbing a hand though her hair. She frowned, yeah, she'd been way too wrapped up in her self lately. Aleks shouldn't have had to worry about coming to Delilah with this kind of thing because she seemed distracted, it made her feel super guilty, "I know. I've been such a mess." She said with a sigh, shaking her head, "It doesn't matter though, you could've told me, i'm always here for you even when I'm on another planet, spacing out and whatever. You can come to me with anything, because you're my best friend and it's my job to be there when you need me no matter what." She said with an apologetic smile, "Next time, hit me upside the head and tell me to stop being such a self centered cow." She told her with a giggle, "I'm glad Dominic knows though, and I don't even care you told him first..."
She nodded, "Okay, I'll give you that one," She conceded pulling a hand through her hair, "But you didn't have to introduce her as your niece, I mean, you could've told me when I came over the first time." But then she shook her head at Aleks next words. Duh, Lilah, how stupid. "You didn't want people to know..." She repeated. "That's why you guys moved here to begin with, right?" She bit her lip, "Why are you telling us now though?" Lilah finally asked, brows drawing together, honestly at this point what was the point? Sure, it was weird to find out she'd been lying to them this whole time and she was glad of the knowledge it made so many things much more understandable, but it didn't make sense she was getting away with it. No one suspected it, that Lilah knew of, besides her mother at least. Lilah knew the reason she herself would have for not wanting to tell, surely, no matter how much she trust Dominic and Aleks if she was getting away with it she wouldn't give it up for anything, not when things were going so well. "Oh man," Another thought, much like her triumph at being the favorite aunt hit her again, "God, the pain." She said blowing out a breath and shaking her head, "It'd make a shattered femur feel like a paper cut..." She said, shaking her head, though judging by the way she'd acted when they'd brought her into the hospital you would've doubted anything had happened her, she didn't cry, sure she didn't say much and she was pretty sure a lot of it was just shock, but it was the worst pain she'd ever felt in her life. She was pretty sure there wasn't a pain in the world that could rival that, but now she had a vision of child birth and it was likely she was never going to complain about her knee hurting in front of Aleks again.

aleks crinkled her nose at delilah, yeah, she was right, but it didn't mean she really had to call her out for it. she tried not to complain too much about it, she was big on downplaying the stuff that was bothering her and trying to focus completely on her friends, mostly because it seemed to be the only way she'd ever be able to survive. withdrawal from society hadn't worked so well in the three months she had stayed in chicago after she was raped, so when she moved to seattle she threw herself into the lives of the few people that did choose to associate with "the pregnant girl", now what time she didn't spend immersed in school or taking care of lis she did the same thing with lilah or dom, and now jayden since she'd finally got him to admit to being in love with delilah... which now that delilah knew about lissa, she felt she needed to tackle their continual dancing around those emotions, just because she had one less thing to worry about and try to run away from didn't mean she wasn't done meddling. can you really see me killing anyone? she asked, but letting lilah finish, well, i did smuggle a centaur in from atlantis a couple months back, it was pretty epic. she said smiling, feeling a lot lighter now that she wasn't going to have to worry about lilah and dom finding out about lissa and hating her for it.. aleks laughed, forgetting for a moment about lissa trying to sleep and she shushed herself, i thought you were sha-nae-nae and i was shapoopie? she said shaking her head, yeah, they were pretty retarded. why should i be surprised that's the first thing you think of, aleks teased, with a grin, there were not enough words to express her profound relief. i was just as bad. i was really preoccupied with myself, and what was worse is i was putting dom in a really uncomfortable position, because i was scared to tell you... she sighed, i should have told you when i told him, and i should have told both of you sooner. i made horrible assumptions about how you guys would feel or what you would do.. it wasn't right... not to mention the lying. she bit her lip and shook her head before she looked back up to lilah, please say you forgive me and even though i know that now i don't seem as trustworthy as i was that other then trying to cover up me being a mom i never lied to you guys and i hope that you can still trust me.
aleks shifted uncomfortable to the question, there is a girl here... from chicago. she began, worrying her lip, wondering how much she told of the story, i wasn't the nicest person back home and i kind of.. really fucked this girl over. she winced slightly at bad word, it had been ages since she'd used that ind of language, mostly because of lissa but it was really the most accurate way to describe what she had done to arissana, she saw me with lissa and she just pieced it together. it surprised her mostly because here was aris who saw one minute of her and lissa and was thoroughly convinced that lissa was her daughter, sure aris had the base of aleksandra's not so modest past but aleks had always been safe, even though she had slept around she was the last person people really expected to get pregnant. apparently she'd already gotten some intel from a neighbor or something and she heard about me and dom but she didn't know it was me so she threatened to tell, to... get back at me, for what i did. tables turned? she'd have done the exact same thing. it would have been epic. aleksandra laughed at delilah, that was pretty much dom's first question... after giving birth the teen was almost positive there would never be another more painful experience in her life. she learned to appreciate that her period could hurt so much worse and had pretty much given up on complaining about them. she'd taken on that whole "suffer in silence" attitude and spent most of her time leaning against dom or delilah trying to suck it up, depending on who was closest at the time. you got hit by a car, i think it might have been right up there... she offered with a chuckle, knowing that as much as del wanted to deny it, she suffered more then she let on and even when she did make some complaint that it was much, much worse then she told anybody. aleks wouldn't be surprised if the pain was just as bad now as it had been when she was first healing, though she only got those stories secondhand from dominic, because delilah played it off like it wasn't all hat bad.

Delilah laughed and shook her head, "No, but that wasn't my point..." She said sighed, "And everyone calls me the smartass..." She said feigning exasperation, before she laughed at Aleks' next words, "I can't believe you didn't invite me, how rude." She said trying to pretend she was upset, but Lilah didn't do serious very well and she'd already used up her reserves with Jayden earlier today, "That's neither here nor there though, point was; it doesn't matter what it is, you can always tell me." It was advice she probably should have taken herself, telling Aleks what had happened with Jayden even though she seemed all out there, but they could have helped each other, this could have been done with by now. She giggled, "You know, I don't even remember anymore, it's just whatever is handy!" She said shaking hear head, they had to be the craziest people in the whole town but they always had fun. "Yeah, you should've told us sooner, I wouldn't have acted any different then I am now, and I can't entirely speak for Dom but I know he'd feel the same." She said, making sure her tone didn't sound chastising, "And obviously there is a lot more to this," She said hesitantly, not wanting to dig deeper then she had to, "But you didn't tell us for a reason, because you weren't and still aren't comfortable enough, and not with us but with whatever it is that happened, and that's fine." Delilah laughed lightly and shook her head, "Honey, I probably would have done the same thing if I was in your shoes. You know... My mom... Well, she actually said she thought Lissa was yours, and I know what my first thoughts were. We all know how people see teen mothers, I wouldn't want people knowing either. I wouldn't tried to keep it a secret as long as I could. " She felt a little guilty in admitting to her thoughts, but it was almost knee jerk, you just grew up with those views you couldn't help it. "It was a big thing to hide, but I'm not going to not trust you because of it, because it's completely understandable."
Lilah tried to keep her face neutral as Aleks dropped the f-bomb, the worst thing she'd ever heard from her was damn or bitch, and those were sparing and Dels attributed it to the amount of time spent with her niece because little kids repeated everything. Every single thing, it was beyond annoying and Cass had gotten Delilah in trouble by repeating the wrong things. "Hey, do you want me to kick her ass? I bet I could take her." She said recovering quickly and deciding not to press her for further details of exactly what she had done, Aleks had told her that she could be a bitch, but Delilah had never imagined it, but I guess when you had a former rival threatening to tell everyone that you had a child then you had to do something pretty drastic. "Yeah? It's not surprising." She said with a chuckle, "I probably ould have too, but I was too excited about being favorite aunt." Delilah chuckled, yeah, she was a bit immature, but oh well. "Well, yeah, but I wasn't pushing a person out of vagina. I'm sure you would've prefer being hit by a car, though I didn't get something as cute as Lissa out it.." She said trying to keep the smile on her face, the only thing being hit by a car had brought was shattered dreams. She looked over at Lissa sleeping and smiled, before she furrowed her brows, "So what about her..." She bit off her question, asking about Lissa's dad might not have been a good idea... " I mean your mom...Has your mom met her, or know anything about her?" Asking about Aleks' mom was probably not that much better.

aleks grinned, i was afraid i was gonna get popped by the feds, i was just looking out for you. she joked, smiling, before she dropped her teasing, i promise, that... there was no way to do this without lying, she couldn't tell delilah the whole truth but she delilah had to know that aleks wasn't going to keep something so huge from her anymore that she realized she could tell delilah without fear of judgment or anything. i know i can tell you anything, and i won't keep something like that from you unless i have to or i just can't... come to terms with it. she managed, relief coming with the words. so true, i think they were actually even different then that in the beginning.it really did seem to vary on their mood and the amount of sugar in their system how ridiculous their ghetto names got. didn't we call dominic 'furonda'? she asked with a giggle. aleks dropped her gaze quickly at delilah's words, there was more, a whole lot more, but she really wasn't ready to say that much, she knew she'd have to eventually, it wasn't healthy for her to keep living with it like this but she was pretty sure that she'd never really comfortable enough to let it surface enough to rehash the details. i would've thought same thing... she admitted, people never really consider the- aleks stopped quickly, clearing her throat before she rushed to fill in for he sudden halt, i'm glad that this doesn't, change things... that you still trust me. she said, trying to force a smile to her face as she ignored the tension and panic that had flooded her.
she let herself laugh too loud, and she waited to speak until she was sure lissa was not going to start crying again, i bet you could, actually. aris wouldn't know what to do if someone had actually challenged her, most of the time her friends had ganged up on whatever person was threatening aris. it was always an unfair fight and aris did very little, aris didn't have that kind of back up here and even if she did delilah could take them all no doubt. you always said you were the favorite aunt, so i don't know why this was news to you. aleks teased, pulling a pillow into her lap, yeah, while i was in labor i was thinking the whole time 'why do women do this more then once? are you kidding me?' she shook her head, smilling a little, it was the worst pain i've ever felt, but after... when i got to hold her the first time, then... then i knew. her smile softened, that's when i knew i could do it and that's when i knew why women willingly went through it, more then once. because.. there is nothing like it. it was that kind of sentimental stuff she never used to be fond of, the stuff she heard her aunts and mother and cousins talk about and had always made her roll her eyes and doubt that it really worked that way. but it did. panic filtered back up into her chest, she knew where lilah's mind was now, the obvious question to her, but she was glad when she quickly backtracked. she didn't want to admit she didn't know who the father was. even though talking about her mom made aleks feel like crap it was better then talking about her rapist, she hasn't met her, I don't know if she ever will. she admitted, but okasna called and told her all the particulars when i was in the hospital, length, weight all that good stuff. she said with a shrug, i doubt she really cared, but we got the information to her. i was all for leaving her in the dark... she didn't want me around anymore, she didn't want to know anything about the pregnancy so why should i bother keeping her in the loop? she is the one missing out. her words had become a little rushed as irritation stained her tone, her accent becoming a little heavier, it reminding her of when delilah's mom got irritated she'd speak a aweird mix of italian and english.
