Never ever had she been more glad to see the backs of her parents as they headed out for one of their numerous affairs with whatever kind of business her father was involved in. This trip was expected to take them the whole weekend, Cassie was spending the night with a friend and had already left and hour before and her brother was on some stupid binge with his stupid friends. Which meant she had sweet freedom and reign over the house, all fifty three and half rooms were hers to blare music in, demolish or generally just make a shambles of. Of course she wouldn't, but she would take advantage of the fact she had the house to herself, she wasn't going to throw a party thought it was probably a good idea, but she was going to enjoy the quite. Her house was never, ever quite. Not with her brothers constant guffaws and her sisters endless kid shows and her mothers never ending shrill screams to – ironically – be quite. It was the first time she'd been allowed to be home by herself, mostly because of her mother's worry for anything happening to her, but she was off pain medication now (something she was not happy about ) but somehow it had made her mother give her oodles of more freedom. A whole afternoon lay ahead of her and while she really should have been doing something epic she took the chance to just lay out in the TV room and watch a movie. It felt like a luxury akin to the greatest massage in the world, she could get through a whole movie without her mother coming to ask her if she was feeling okay, her brother pummelling her or Cassie begging her to play make believe with her. She appreciated her family, but she appreciated the solitude.
So her afternoon progressed in front of her, she kicked in movie after movie, flicking on the light when she went for her slippers as the sun fell in the sky chilling her house considerably. She ordered herself a pizza and promptly devoured it without having to watch her back for her brother who quite frequently stole everything that was hers. This was amazing. It was quite possible this night couldn't get any better. No, she was sure, that there was no way at all it could get any better. It was terrible to think her family such a menace, after all her mom only cared, she was worried, even though the accident had been ages ago she still worried. And Cass, she was only a kid, she was allowed to be a pest. She couldn't formulate such an excuse for her brother, her brother was just straight up an ass. The biggest one she knew. Far surpassing Jayden by miles though she was pretty sure Jay could teach "How To Be A Smart Ass 101" A grin spread her face, she'd have to remember that one, it was actually pretty good. She was petty sure when the time came she'd forget it, he'd smile at her and she'd get all lost with her thoughts. She didn't know why it was happening around him but it was, thank God he never noticed, but Aleks did. Aleks noticed everything, such was the downfalls of having Cupid Incarnate for a best friend, analyzing every little thing, Aleks was convinced Lilah & Jay were destined. Somethingthat in the beginning didn't bother her, until she had seen her Best friends witchy ways in action "They'll break up." She'd say of a couple and no less then a week they would, the same for her couple predictions. There had only been a few exceptions to this rule, but Aleks would get a sage look "It'll happen, I promise."
It was that crypticness that made Del's stomach flip. No it would not happen. Her and Jay were just her and Jay, best friends til the end. Emphasis on the friends part, something she needed to remind herself more lately then anyone else. A fact she hated. She groaned rolling over onto her stomach, not very difficult on the oversized couch in the TV Room. She didn't want to think about it anymore. She gave steadying breaths, hard with a face full of down and satin pillow but she managed it. She was pushing ay to the back of her mind tonight. This was her night. Her night free of distractions. Her night to herself. Period.

It had started out innocently enough, or semi-innocently at least, a night with the boys from his soccer team. He spent so much time around girls that it was good to just get away, drink, eat, talk sports and be generally manly. But somewhere between consuming his own body weight in sausages and steak, and the milk drinking contest – which he won, but consequently spent the next ten minutes throwing up in the garden for – he had managed to get quite drunk. Like actually really sort of drunk, minus the sort of. Which was not common for the seventeen year old, sure he liked to party, but he preferred to do it sober, turning up to soccer practice and hour late and completely hung over was a big no-no as far as he was concerned, though he was almost the only one that felt that way.
“I need to pee” he announced abruptly, as the inevitable girl discussion turned toward his oldest and closest of friends, Delilah. Despite being totally in denial about it, it was common knowledge how he felt about her, and talking about her was one of the few ways to get him riled, “shut up..” he grumbled heatedly at one particularly crude comment, which elicited a chorus of knowing ‘oohs’ from the ground before clambering across the back of the couch and – quite unintentionally – the floor. It took him thee tries to stand, but he managed it, and peering around he tried to recall where luke – the somewhat absentee host – had said the bathroom was. Grumbling at his distinct lapse in memory, he decided that houses should come equipped with signs, and instead of asking around he just wandered down the first hallway he found. How he managed it, he wasn’t sure, but he had started off towards the back of the house and ended up at the front door, “what the..” he mumbled as he opened the door, blinking and stepping out onto the front lawn as the security lights flicked on. “it’ll do.. ” he added with a shrug, ducking behind the nearest tree.
“jay… ?” his friend called from the door, the same one that had been running his mouth earlier, “ …just fuck off man” he responded, glancing back toward the house with a frown before turning and making his way down the path. Pulling out his phone, he flicked through the contacts. His vision must have been seriously impaired, because somehow Tierney, had looked like Delilah to his brain, and he had called the wrong person. Not that tinny wasn’t just as helpful with directions, she was just a lot more disapproving of having to give them. After a less than friendly conversation with the opinionated senior, he tucked his phone back into his pocket, still completely at odds as to how to get back to his house from here. But then, he noticed as house in the distance, one he could recognize even now, where he could barely remember his own name. That house was like his second home, and it was where his very best friend in the world lived. A smile pulled across his lips, evaporating the annoyance of only a few moments ago.
“DELILAH” he called loudly, heedless to the fact that he was still much too far away for her to hear, he tried to run, but after tripping and acquainting his left elbow and knee with the pavement, he decided it was safer just to walk, he was not nearly as nimble with this much alcohol in his system. Tripping up the front steps he fell into the front door, “GUESS WHO ” he called, sinking to the ground and peering absently at the blood running down his leg while he waited.

Halfway through her new movie she had depleted her stockpile of snacks, that probably should have made her feel like a fatty but all it really did was irritate her. Sighing, she paused her movie, and stood groaning a little as she tossed a look over her shoulder into the dark hallway. The TV Room was the only light on in the house now, great. According to her favorite brand of scary movie she was about to die. Horribly. Lilah rolled her eyes at the absurdity, but still only took a hesitant step forward before she raced to the end to hit the lights for the living room, light above the stairs and hall way. The lights came on temporarily blinding her and no shoker there : no masked killer. "Yeah, you're an idiot." She muttered as she went into her kitchen as snippets of all her favorite horror movie kitchen deaths replayed in her mind, she hated she actually looked at the knife holder to make sure all of them were there. This apprehension could never be mentioned to anyone, she'd never live it down. Ever. Giving another glance around the kitchen she sighed and trudged forward to the fridge. That's what too much sugar did for you : delusions. Gathering her loot a grin spread across her face and she headed back to her movie, humming lightly to herself.
Her happy little tune gave way to a startled scream as something much, much larger then a fist made contact with her door. Nearly dumping her stuff she clapped a hand to her mouth as serial killer fantasies took over again. However a familiar voice cut the sound of the blood rushing in her ears, it calmed her but also pissed her off a little too. She was pretty positive he had been paying attention when she had told Aleks that she had the house to herself most of the weekend, of course he'd play some stupid trick on her. "Ass." She grumbled dumping her goods onto the small table against the wall and walked to the door. Unlocking it, she wrenched it open, seething. "Jayden, you stu-" The words died in her throat as she dropped her gaze to her top step, his pathetic look registered but mostly the blood. Hurt. Jayden hurt. Was the only thing on her mind now, "Jay, hun, for God's sake get in here..." Worry creasing her forehead, she bent down to at least see where the blood was coming from but she jerked back, her face scrunched as she caught the scent of booze, "You've been drinking..." Disgust was heavy in her tone, but he was still bleeding and that concern trumped everything right now.
Much like she had to a couple times with her brother she leaned forward again and brought his arm around her shoulder and sort of drug and lifted him into her house, "Come on, Jay Jay." Catching the door with foot she shut it before she lead him away from the light carpeting of the TV Room & Living room and into the guestroom next to the stairs. Helping him into a chair she let his arm drop off her roughly and she stood in front of him, "Good God, what is wrong with you?" She demanded letting the full force of her concern into her tone, "Are you insane?" She asked shaking her head in disbelief, before she straitened up, "Don't move." She ordered, going into the rooms bathroom she pulled a first aid kit out from under the sink and filled a glass with water. She handed him the glass when she came back, "Drink it, you'll feel a little better." She didn't let him protest before she began speaking again, "What are you thinking walking around town like this? God, you could have been picked up by the police or mugged, or shit Jay, you know what happened to me." Her accident had been caused by her drunk dumb ass stepping into the road and getting hit by a car. He could have very well done the same thing, maybe that car might not have been going as slow as the one that hit her, maybe that driver wouldn't have been paying enough attention and he wouldn't have tried to stop. Jay could have been hurt far worse then Delilah had, he could have died. That happened, the doctor's had told her that. The thought made her sick and more of it leaked on to her face.

At her words, he merely groaned, he was comfortable there on the ground, he didn’t really want to move, “not you too..” he muttered, rolling his eyes, the familiar ring of disapproval causing his temper to flare briefly. What was with him and lecturing females today? First teirney, and now Delilah, at that thought he glanced up at her questioningly, “you know tinny, right?” he asked, frowning, remembering his conversation of only five minutes ago, he had known both girls for years, how was it possible that they didn’t know about each other? Letting his head rest on the door frame, he shut his eyes against the harsh porch light, protest rumbling in his throat as Delilah went to help him up. “cant I just stay here?” he asked, a slight pout on his face, it took one look to convince him however that she wouldn’t allow that, sighing he pushed himself unsteadily to his feet, and with her help, went inside.
“no… and no..” he responded, not meeting her eyes, knowing full well of the worry he’d find in them, and he didn’t want to deal with that, “does it look like I can go anywhere?” he muttered under his breath, watching her walk across to the bathroom, before peering around, “where is everyone?” he asked absently, noticing for the first time how quiet the house was, he was however glad for it, no doubt he would have gotten ten times the lecture from her mother, especially after the ordeal she’d already been through with her own daughter and alcohol. Not even bothering to object, he accepted the glass silently and downed it all in one go, frowning when she began to admonish him for his behavior. He didn’t like it, mainly because it reminded him too much of austyn, and right now he didn’t want to be connecting Delilah to his sister in any respect.
He reached for her hand, pulling her down into his arms before she had time to object, “I only walked down the street, from lukes…you worry too much..” he mumbled, resting his head against her shoulder, it suddenly felt ten times heavier than normal, “I’m fine.. see? I’m fine..” he assured her, a slight smile working across his lips, but it didn’t seem to placate her, straightening he frowned at her, pressing a finger firmly to her lips. “shhh…” he commanded, “no, shhhhhhhhh…” he repeated when she went to speak again, “shhhhhhh…” he was glaring at her now, which only silenced her a further few seconds, sighing loudly, he rolled his eyes and let his head settle back, “if you be quiet for one second, theres something I want to tell you..” he informed her, pausing to glance up at her, waiting for the familiar flutter of nerves in his stomach that inevitably withheld him from confessing his feelings, but his inhibitions had been drowned out long ago, ah, the wonders of alcohol. He breathed deep, and smiled, “I love you..” he said, gazing at her steadily, the look on his face, light and playful, and yet at the same time, expectant and vulnerable, “..and, anddddd… I want to kiss you” he added, touching her lightly on the chin.

Confusion alighted on her face, was that drunk talk for Tiz? Then shaking her head, she realized the senior girl he was talking about, "I know of her, why?" Then her eyes narrowed a little, "She didn't get your drunk, did she?" She said trying to let her disapproval hide any sort of jealousy, why should she care if he was drinking with another girl? He had plenty of females friends minus herself, there was Aleks and Thursday, plenty... "No, you may not." She snapped, nudging him with her knee, "Look at those clouds!" She said pointing to starless sky, even the moon not able to break the thick cloud cover tha was impossible to see in the dark, "You'll catch your death out here, now come on." She tried to ignore that she just sounded like her mother, but it was only true. He'd get soaked either freeze to death or then get pneumonia and still die. She'd seen Jay drink before, he was a seventeen year old boy of course he drank but she had never really seen him sloshed. Tipsy or buzzed but he usually stopped before he hit drunk or she found a way to distract him from guzzling more alcohol, mostly cus she didn't want to have to deal with him drunk or have him have to deal with Austyn while he was drunk.
Lilah gave a harsh laugh, "No, you are definitely insane..." She said, rubbing her forehead, trying to calm herself down, the hangover he'd have in the morning was punishment enough she didn't need to be screaming at him now. "Don't be a smartass, while I'm being helpful..." Comments like that wouldn't go far for helping her keep her easily excitable temper down. "I thought you knew, that's why I was mad at you to begin with..." She shrugged, not wanting to explain her earlier serial killer stupidity. "Parents have some kind of business thing for my dad, uhm my brother is on a weekend pub crawl and Cass is spending the night at a friends, I have to pick her up tomorrow..." She was thankful now that the house was empty, no way would her parents appreciate this, and her brother... Oh her brother would find some way to tease her with it, ignoring that she wasn't doing anything. Worse her mother might see it as some reason for her to not hang out with Jay anymore.
He shouldn't be allowed to do that when she was trying to be furious with him, she easily folded herself into his arms, taking a calming breath, she was worrying too much. He was fine. Her eyes narrowed again at his words, Luke. She liked most of his soccer friends, most of them like her but Luke was one that she never really could mesh with. Considering that his favorite nickname for her was Soccer Mom, it was understandable, she barely batted an eye when he went down on the field and more often then not purposely ignored his existence. She dropped her eyes to the finger he placed against her lips and was half tempted just to bite it, couldn't he let her get it all out first? Knitting her eyebrows she sighed, he was fine. There was no need to keep going, he was already well aware of how much an idiot he was. Still, she was a little impatient with his interruption, "I already know you're an idiot, what more could you have to say?" She said making her smiled as sugary sweet as possible. She half expected some sort of stupid, obvious observation that her brother usually gave when he was sloshed, but it wasn't. Or at least it wasn't stupid, obvious to many... Okay, everyone except them. Drunk. He's drunk. Despite that she knew it was true, the majority part of her that she had been trying to quite for months now rejoiced at the confirmation. It felt right, no matter that he was drunk or not, he knew he meant it. The logical part of her was trying to argue that she couldn't trust what he said now, he blitzed. She bit her lip, trying to banish the ridiculous onset of butterflies in her stomach that had come with the feeling of total rightness over her. "I want you to kiss me too..." She breathed, letting the logical part of her fade away. "Because... because I love you too..." Her smile widened, it didn't even feel real now, it was something she had been denying forever, but it was something she was pretty sure she never wanted to deny it again. It was stupid of her.

He laughed, “ tinny? oh no no no… ” he assured her, shaking his head, “ in fact I just got the same lecture from her just now..” he added, frowning slightly, “ I called her by mistake, she wasn’t too happy about it.. ” he elaborated before she could ask, frowning again, he stared pensively up at her, “ I’m just amazed that I’ve known you both for years and yet…” his voice trailed off and he shrugged, “ why- ” he began to ask, but paused, not noticing how dark it was until she pointed it out to him, “ yes mom..” he grumbled, shaking his head, “ honestly you girls.. ” he muttered with humorless laugh, “ but thanks dels, I owe ya..” he added, hoping to placate her, the last thing he should be doing is annoying the girl, its not like there was anyone else around to take care of his drunk ass.
“tell me something I don’t know.. ” he responded, grinning at the look he got in return. It wasn’t unusual for him to see her worry like this, she had a short temper and a penchant for overreaction, she did however seem to be a little worse than usual. “ when should I be a smartass then?” he asked before he could think better of it, sober jay would have been smart enough to hold that one back, but drunk jay didn’t have the same self control. “ mad at me? ” he asked, confusion filling his expression, “ what did I do? ” he asked, the look on his face genuinely clueless, “ you got the house to yourself and you didn’t even think to throw a party?” he asked, grinning wickedly at the thought. It was definitely someone he would have done, such a bad influence he was. “ so… theres… no one else here?” he asked, the alcohol in his system only fuelling his overactive imagination.
A smirk fell across his lips at her reaction, just the one he had been hoping for, he had long since perfected the art of absolving himself whenever she was angry at him. Of course, sometimes it worked better than others, “ don’t give me that look, he’s a good guy… really.. ” he offered, sighing, “ funny..” he murmured, her sarcasm however, not distracting him from the words he’d been wanting to say for so long. He wasn’t honestly stunned by her response, cocky and confident as he was, he did take to heart the way she would insist they were just friends, and had began to believe wholeheartedly that his affections might be one sided. He stared at her for a long, long moment, a faint smile pulling across his lips. Reaching out he let his thumb brush along of the curve of her lower lip, making sure that this wasn’t just his imagination on overdrive and that he wasn’t going to wake up and find that he’d been hitting on one of his friends. But she was definitely real, her skin warm beneath his hand and her face invitingly close. Cupping her cheek, he leaned forward, kissing her lightly on the lips before brushing her hair back and resting his head on her should again, “ raincheck..” he murmured sleepily, “ trust me, theres no way you’d want to be kissing me right now.. ” he informed her, chuckling darkly, considering the evenings events he was doing her a favor, even in this state some distant sober part of his brain didn’t want their first kiss to be while he was drunk, or to taste of beer and milk. “ what were you up to anyway? I hope I wasn’t interrupting anything..” he added, with a slight shrug, fighting to hold his eyes open.

Lilah felt a little bit better, she even laughed at his words, "Good, I like her and I haven't even met her." Sure, she didn't like her lecture job being taken from her, cus she could give quite a few good ones but anyone that was talking some sense into him tonight was good in her book. She shrugged, "Raine's like her best friend too, but I think I may have met her once but obviously not very extensively... " Though at this point her friendship with the girls didn't really matter to her, maybe when he was a little more sober and he was finally off her front steps she could care a little more. "I know, " she began sarcastically, "How dare we care about your well being... The nerve." Her face softening a little with the thanks "It's my job, hun." She said, offering him a smile that said while she still thought he was a retard she wasn't really mad.
She was half tempted to slap the smug little grin off of his face, however she was pretty much convinced he couldn't help but be a smartass. Both of them were like that. Most things between them were jokes or sarcastic, it's the way they were. Right now it just didn't seem as endearing as usual. She quirked her brow at his words, "You're so pushing it, JayJay." Her voice tight, but not reflecting too much of the irritation the comment flared up. She shook her head at his question, "Later.." She said waving her hand dismissively, "You didn't do anything..." She was unwilling to admit that he scared the crap out of her and thought she had been having some serious Serial Killer nightmares, he'd forget everything else about tonight with his state of extreme drunkenness but he would remember that to tease her with. She snorted, "So I can have a whole house full of drunk idiots like you?" She shook her head, "No thanks.... Plus, I kind of just wanted my thoughts..." She said with a brief shrugs of her shoulder, figures the one person she was trying to avoid thinking about would show up. The universe had a funny way with that stuff. "Yes, that means it's just you and me..." She said slowly, like she were taking to a child, who knew drunk Jay was slow..
Rolling her eyes she gave a short bitter laugh, "Oh yeah, he's a real champ..." Not like she could really blame it all on Luke, Jayden was a big boy he could handle himself. His words provided a very decent distraction from her irritation, her stomach felt good queasy and she was pretty sure that it'd be impossible to take the smile from her face now. There was a greedy part of her that wanted to ignored the tiny, minority logical part of her that was screaming about his drunkenness, he couldn't really be trusted at his word right now. Another part of her agreed with this logical part of her and was all to eager to have his lips on hers fearing that it would all be gone in the morning, like some kind of mythical creature and it was eager to take advantage of the situation. She wasn't so happy about that part, it was almost like taking advantage of him, but all of her was pretty sure that he wouldn't exactly mind. The skin his fingers brushed blazed and her heart beat faster then it ever had, she was pretty sure nothing could compare to this. Her breath picked up a little as he leaned forward and she was pretty sure her heart stopped when he finally kissed her, and even thought it was brief she could barely taste the beer and it gave more fuel to the tiny logical part, but the rest of her didn't care. It only cared that it had been too short, it didn't satiate the hormones that were coursing through her. "No.." She said turning into his neck, her lips brushing the coppery skin there, "No, that's exactly what I want now..." She had been kissed before, fiercer then that but it had never felt that good. She stroked the back of his neck before she answered, "Just watching a movie, is all..." She said before she leaned away from him a little, "You look beat, I'll be right back." She stood carefully, kissing him on his forehead before she left the room. She returned with a pair of sweats her brother had just bought, tags still on, and the baggy men's t she had slept in the night before, the only men's t shirt she had that wasn't tossed into the laundry. She ripped the tags off the sweats easily. "Here... The shirt's mine, but it's not like a girl one or anything, my zio gave it to me. The sweats are new, my brother just got them... You really should get some sleep." She said holding them out, a little shaky as she did so.

He rolled his eyes, “ I really don’t see what the big deal is, its not like I do this all the time or anything..” he responded, a touch of the defensiveness from his earlier conversation sneaking back. Considering whenever he did drink, he only drank enough to be pleasantly buzzed, no more, there was no way he was going to end up like his parents, so he really didn’t feel it was necessary to be getting such lectures. He roused a smile, “ ..well it sounds like you two have a bit in common already” he added dryly, “esssssacttllyyyyyyy… ” he agreed, a noticeable slur in his words, “ I’m a man, I can take care of myself, kay? Okay..ah-kay? uhuh.. ” he babbled, “ I mean, I’m not even like… that drunk… honestly I’m not…” he added, grinning at the look she gave him, “ I’m not…I mean look ” he added, breaking away from her for a moment to try and walk in a straight line, sending him straight into the closest wall. “ okay…” he conceded, “ so maybe I am … ”
“ you love me” he responded with a shrug, his standard answer at these times, these time where she looked like she was about ready to slap him down. It really wasn’t his fault, or maybe it was, most of the time he knew better than to say something before he said it, and yet he would say it anyway, the other twenty percent was his smartass don’t-think-before-i-speak reflex, one that was constantly getting him into all sorts of trouble – mainly with Delilah. “ that’s hardly fair… your already mad at me enough as it is, theres no need to be mad at me for no reason too… ” he said, pouting a little, “ drunk idiot? I resent that.. ” he joked, laughing, “ thoughts?” his brows tapered slightly, and he shook his head, “ girls.. ” he muttered, “ I guess one of us needs to be mature and responsible…” he added, grinning slightly “ ..and I’m glad its you” a devious look came into his eyes then, before disappearing, he glanced around, “ alone.. with you, and totally wasted…” he began, eyeing her warily, “ should I be worried about my virtue?” he asked, holding a serious face for all of two seconds, before beginning to laugh.
“ no? ” he asked, struggling to maintain his self control when her lips brushed his neck, he sighed then, suddenly reflective, “ you girls are so hard to figure out.. I swear.. ” he added, glancing down at her, a wry grin pulling across his lips, “ im fi-” he began to protest, but she was already up and off before his drunken reflexes could kick in. Looking up when she returned, he raised a brow when she held clothes out to him, his brain taking a moment to realize what she wanted, “mmmm…sleep ” was all he replied with, as he got slowly to his feet. In this state it didn’t occur to him to go to the bathroom, reaching to the back of his neck, he pulled his shirt off and tossed it down on the seat he’d just vacated, his jeans soon accompanying it. Down to his boxers now he tried to navigate his way into the clean shirt via sleeve, “ screw this.. ” he muttered, struggling for a few more moments before giving up and flopping down on the bed, turning over he gazed up at her, a slow smile drawing across his lips, “ your so beautiful, you know that?” he told her then, reaching for her hand again and pulling toward the bed.

Lilah nodded, he did have a point, but it really didn't matter, "I know, but when you do do this kind of thing, you sure do it up good..." She wasn't trying to preachy or be a pain in the ass, but enough of her own experience with being drunk always managed to come back when any of her friends were this smashed, she couldn't help but be a little preachy. Lilah quirked a brow, at his words, trying hard not to laugh, but failing as he broke from her and walked promptly into a wall, "Oh, yeah, Jay you're a big man that doesn't need any help at all.." She snorted, rolling her eyes, "You're going to feel like such an ass in the morning, if you even remember..." A smirk spread across her lips, "Don't worry I'll totally remind you in the morning, cus you are never going to live that little display of yours down." Considering all the silly things she'd done and he teased her for every chance afforded she was totally going to take advantage of it.
"Yeah, I do. But sometimes, I have to ask my self why..." She teased, though her affection for him was what stopped her from taking him down sometimes, that and he was a male and really couldn't help but be a dumb ass. Sometimes that wasn't enough, this would have been one of those times had he not be so blitzed. "I'm not mad about that anymore, this..." She said motioning to his drunk self, "I'm a little mad about, but I'm glad you came here.." A little of her wished he hadn't but it was only the part that was too confused about how she seriously felt about him. "Yeah, thoughts.." A little blush dusting her cheeks at it, "Not that it really did much good when you are avoiding thingking the thing thatyou were trying to think about cus... Nevermind." She shook her head putting a lid on her rambling. She snorted, "Oh yeah, you should totally be worried..." She offered dryly before joining in with his laughter, though she was pretty sure that he wouldn't really complain if she were to "take advantage of him".
She couldn't help but giggle a little, she hated to admit it but he did have a point. Quite literally yesterday she was vehemently denying having anything but strictly platonic feelings towards him and now... Well, it was far, far from her claims. Now, she didn't want to deny it anymore. "Keeps you on your toes, right?" She quipped, an amused smiling matching his. "Yes, sleep." Lilah half expected him to go to the bathroom to change, but as he began to took his shirt off – with none of the hesitation he had when she was at his house for their movie night – she realized that he didn't have the proper mental reasoning skills for such an advanced idea. Quickly. she turned away from him, hating to admit that she would have much rather admired him. A blush dusted her cheeks as she idly examined the runner on the dresser next to the door, chiding herself a little for it. "Screw what?" She asked turning back to him, surprised that he wasn't yet dressed, "Oh my god, I swear.... Never living this down.." She said picking up the abandon clothes and beginning to fold them. Her smile widened at his words, her blush coming back as he pulled her towards him, no doubt she could have held her ground, she was strong on her own and in his drunkenness he didn't have his normal strength or coordination. His earlier comment about virtue came back and she shook her head a little, "Move over.." The distant, logical part of her mind said this was stupid as she laid down next to him, but she trusted herself enough and him. "You look two seconds away from passing out," She said with an amused smile, "I'll feel bad for you in the morning, cus I know you're going to have a wicked hangover." She tried to replace her amusement with sympathy but she didn't quite make it. Biting her lip, she looked away to the wall behind him before she looked back to his face, "Are you sure... About what you said earlier or... just..." She shook her head, "Never mind." It was really something she should wait to talk to him about when he was sober.

He shrugged, “when have a done anything by halves? ” he asked, a goofy smile weaving across his lips. Jay was definitely an all or nothing type of boy, his competitiveness often driving to do things he wouldn’t normally do, when he played, he played to win. It was that determination he drew upon in soccer games, that only aided his natural finesse for the game. “I totally meant to do that… ” he responded, too drunk at that point to even feel a flicker of embarrassment, “ of course I’ll remember… I’ve got the memory of a… of a…” he paused, frowning, “ whats that animal that has a good memory? ” using the wall to lean on he took another few steps forward, until- “ hey, when did you put a table there?” he complained frowning accusingly at it, as though it was its fault he had walked straight into it. He glanced at her, “ what display?” he asked, frowning, his head tilting slightly to one side.
“ because I’m super sexy awesome… mhmmm.. ” he responded, almost like a reflex, it was a testament to his ego that it still managed to appear when he could barely string two sentences together, he laughed, “ awwww, dels, its not healthy to be jealous…” he told her, misinterpreting her completely, he reached out to pat her consolingly on the head but missed, “ we’ll I was trying to go home, only I forgot where that was, and I tried to call you and ended up calling tinny instead, and then I was walking… and there was your house, and I was glad…” he babbled, pausing to glance solemnly across at her, “somebody told me its going to rain, and I don’t think it would be nice to be drunk, wet and lost.. no, no… ” he tried to make sense of what she was saying, but she was talking to his fast for his brain, “ huh? ” was all he managed, his confusion heightened by the faint blush on her cheeks, “ I knew it.. ” he began with a smug smile, “ I knew you want me baddddddd…” he teased, laughing.
He rolled his eyes, offering her exasperated look, trust a girl to make things more complicated then they needed to be, “ yeah, but I prefer things simple… you know? ” trying to figure her out was a mission that he had gave up on a long time ago, mainly because he was always getting such mixed signals. “ I like sleep..” he added, almost as an afterthought, yawning, halfway out of his jeans he looked up, wondering absently why she had turned her back to him. “shut up..” he responded gruffly, pouting, “ its harder than it looks, I swear…” he added, wrinkling his nose, offering her a what-the-hell-are-you-bothering-to-do-that-for look when she picked up the clothes to fold them, “ nope.. ” he responded to her request, pulling on her hand again, and managing to time it perfectly so that she ended up on top of him instead of beside him. A smirk drew across his lips at the embarrassed look on her face, laughing as she promptly rolled to one side. “ that’s because I am..” he agreed sleepily, at her next words he winced, “ if you start banging pots I swear…” he threatened hollowly, his eyes drifting closed until she spoke again, with some effort he pulled them open again, “ of course im sure..” he responded, to out of it to know what he was talking about, pressing a finger to her lips he said simply, “ sleep..”
----
“ fuckkkkkkkk..” he muttered, squinting against the sunlight that had managed to sneak in despite the curtains, as last nights hangover kicked in, “where the he- ” he began, before he realized who was beside him, he glanced around again, clutching his head as he did so, delilahs house, how the hell had he got there? he couldn’t recall anything since going to lukes house the night before, “ lilah.. ” he offered in a hoarse voice, hoping his rouse her. “ lilah.. woah..how much did i drink last night?”

Lilah nodded, "Of course you did." She said with a placating tone, running a hand through her hair, trying really hard not to laugh at him. Granted if the tables were turned she was pretty sure he'd have no qualms in laughing at her, not like she ever planned on getting drunk again, once was just enough to ruin her life. She sighed at the bitter edge her thoughts looked, and focused instead on his momentary lapse in intelligence. "An elephant, perhaps?" She supplied clearly amused, "It's been there I don't for like the past... 17 years give or take a year.." Granted it had been moved a few times from next to the door to put your keys on to farther down where it was now but it had been there since forever. "It really is no fun making fun of you when you're this inebriated. Easy, like a sitting duck but not as fun.." She said with a sigh, not enjoying this nearly as much as she could have.
"Super sexy awesome?" She asked, "I am, but definitely not you.." She teased, shaking her head at how he managed to still display his insane ego when everything else seemed to be impossible for him. "Jealous?" Now it was her turn to be confused. "Shut up." She said presseing a hand to his mouth, "You're making even less sense then normal, which is a feat I assure you..." She smiled down at his confusion, still blushing but shook her head, "Nothing. Never mind, now I'm not making sense." She said, with a short sigh, drawing a hand though her hair. Rolling her eyes, she laughed a little, "In the worst way." She quipped, ashamed that half of her fully meant those words. Normally talking like that wouldn't be a good idea but figuring he wouldn't remember the exchange in the morning she had no problem with the teasing.
"Good, cus you're going to need it." She said to his proclamation of liking sleep, stifling a yawn herself she held back an impatient sigh, "I like sleep too, in fact I could use some.." Part of her was hoping that this was a dream, something that stemmed from one of her mothers all too frequent warnings about too much food before bed, she'd wake up in the morning on the lounge in the TV Room and this won't have happened. Unfortunately there was a lot of her that didn't like this delusion. "Hey, Rude Party, table for one... I didn't say anything, butthead. I will put you back out on to my front steps and you can freeze. " Though they both knew the threat was about as empty as Paris Hilton's head. The blush, that had not entirely left her face since he kissed her, flared right back up again as he pulled her to his chest, yeah, she was totally hoping he didn't remember this in the morning. She laughed lightly, "Don't give me any ideas, stupid..." If it were her brother she'd totally bang pots and pans together, but with Jayden she felt a little nicer. That and once he was sufficiently knocked out she was going to head to her room and sleep, wake up with her alarm and let him sleep until he was ready to wake up. Her brother was always in a better mood when she let him sleep until noon and not wake him up early, she was pretty sure it was standard for every drunk person.
Her plan very obviously fell through when she woke to Jayden's annoyed voice, she'd ditched her hoodie later at night but she hadn't woken up farther then that. She spent the night with him. Ah, that just didn't sound right. "Too much..." She answer, holding back a whimper as she swung her legs over the side of the bed, "I need to take something for my knee, I missed one last night..." She began biting her lips and standing, "I'll bring you back some water and something for your head... " She said, yanking the curtains closed tighter, to make him stop whining. She picked up the clothes he had been wearing when he showed up and took them with her tossing them into a basket next to the laundry room. Downing a couple of the docile pain killers her doctor had replaced her Vicodin with she went to her brothers bathroom got his headache stuff and returned to the guest room with a water bottle, she tossed the water bottle on to the bed next to him and held out her hand with the medicine in it, "Here, my brother swears by it..." She said with a smile, crossing her arms and yawning. "If you want to take a shower there are towels in the bathroom, you can use those..." She pointed to the clothes she had brought him to sleep in, "..while I wash your clothes from last night..." She frowned as her gaze dropped to his leg, "Make sure you clean that up, there should be hydrogen peroxide and band aids and triple antibiotic cream in the cabinets in there..."

“huh? An elephant? ” he asked, losing his train of thought entirely in the space of two seconds, “why on earth are you talking about elephants dels? ” he asked her then, expression perplexed, “ personally I like tigers..” he went on, steering the conversation on yet another tangent. “ oh shhh…” was his stunning comeback, along with his best attempt at a dirty look that soon fell into a lopsided grin. “…a what duck? ” he asked, looking down at himself and blinking as though expecting to find feathers and webbed feet. “..i’m not sexy? You lie.. ” he responded confidently, offering a grin. “ don’t tell me-” he began, the rest of his sentence muffled by her hand, “ I make perfect sense. ” he said, brushing her hand away, “ that’s for sure.. ” he agreed, nodding, even at the best of times her logic could be hard to follow, and being this drunk definitely wasn’t helping.
He paused, “ I didn’t like… wake you up did i?” he asked, frowning, “ what time is it anyway?” he pondered out loud, yawning, he figured it must be pretty late, but then, his concept of time was severely impaired by the alcohol, the walk over to her house, which had been no more than five minutes had felt like it had taken a hour. “ pfftt… ” he responded dismissively, “ I’m too hot to freeze..” he added, gesturing energetically to emphasize his point, “ besides, we both no you never would…” he assured her, grinning widely. While most of Delilahs threats weren’t idle, this was one of those instances where he was safe to assumed she lacked the follow through to do so.
“okay.. ” he responded sleepily, watching her idly as she got up and went to the window, before falling lightly back to sleep, only to be awoken by the sound of the water bottle hitting the bed, muttering under his breath he propped himself up on his elbows and looked up at her. Frowning suspiciously down at the pills, he debated briefly whether it was wise to take her brothers word or anything, but quickly decided it was infinitely better than suffering through this killer headache, Shrugging her took the pills popping them into his mouth and swallowing before leisurely reaching for the water bottle, “ thanks..” he mumbled blearily, raising himself slowly off the bed, he was aware she was talking, but he was having trouble concentrating on what she said, however he did manage to catch ‘towels’ and the hand gesture toward the clothes which filled in most of the blanks, “ uh, hey- ” he began, hoping to get a more detailed description of the night before, there was certainly some things he was curious about, like, how he had managed to end up in only his boxers for instance, but she had already disappeared again. Sighing, he picked up the clothes and headed for the bathroom. Turning the water as hot as he could get it without burning herself he stepped out of his boxers and underneath the water. Leaning his forehead against the cool tiles, which was actually rather soothing to her headache, he closed his eyes and made a more concerted effort to remember, but his brain was being horribly unhelpful on the matter. He remembered rocking up to the party the night before, and he had a very vague recollection of luke table dancing, but that was it, and he couldn’t even be sure if that one was right, he could just be remembering a different time, the boy was crazy like that.
It took him a good deal longer than normal to dress, sudden movements were not kind to his current state of post-inebriation. But he looked at least a little less tired when he finally emerged, “ I do anything especially embarrassing last night?” he asked offhandedly, joining her in the lounge room.

This was the only upside to drunk people, she hated taking care of them but God it could be completely amusing, they were a little like puppies and blondes, stupid and easily distracted. They got tiresome of course, but for the most part they were completely hilarious, no way, on a normal day would she have gotten to seem him walk into a wall or jump topics quickly enough to make anyone scratch their heads. It was almost worth it, sure, she was still a little irritated he got this drunk. She shouldn't have been, he was a big boy he knew what he was doing – kind of – but she'd become pretty anti-alcohol since her accident. "Sitting duck..." She said, though pretty sure he'd forgotten what they were talking about before he'd even gotten his question out. She shook her head at his words, pretty sure that he could be on his deathbed and he'd still find something to brag about or flirt with the nurses. He'd be the dirty old man that no nurse wanted to sponge bath. It was a disturbing mental image but it still made her chuckle a little. She shook her head, "No, you don't..." She said taking his hand and putting it over his own mouth, "Keep that there before you say something really stupid." She teased with a grin, she stifled a yawn as she shook her head, "No, I was just watching a movie," her eyes fell to her forgotten snacks, "And stuffing my face," Shrugging she looked over her shoulder to the clock on the mantle, forgetting it was never fixed, "Good question, I'm not sure. After 11? Not by much I don't think..." She tried to work out the time by how many movies she'd watched but that was too much math to do when you were trying to watch out for a drunk person. "Of course, you are." She said patting his head and rolling her eyes, yeah, that ego would never die. "Do you really want to push it and find out?" She said trying to seem as serious as she could but she was pretty sure they both knew too well there wasn't much he could do at this point for her to kick him out short of boiling puppies alive.
If this wasn't shaping up to a weird day – or week – she didn't know what it meant. She all but fled the room as soon as she had finished her schpiel, she was pretty sure he'd been trying to stop her but she didn't know if she was quite ready to face questions about last night. She had not been dreaming, unless her dreams were suddenly becoming increasingly more vivid, waking up next to him was pretty much solid proof that she didn't make up that he had said he loved her. Or that he had kissed her, her cheeks burned bright red at the memory and she stumbled a little as she hurried too fast up the stairs into her own bathroom. Obviously she was not going to tell him that he said that, obviously she was praying that he forgot about that, especially her saying it back. It was stupid of her, but she knew he was drunk she knew it was pretty safe to say it, to finally admit to it, but it gave her a funny ache because he still really didn't know, and now now that she's said it, she wanted to say it again. She wanted to kiss him again, but for real this time because that last night just wasn't even fair, it was a good kiss but it was way too sho- Stop it. She shook her head and splashed her face with water, no, she wasn't going to think about this, he knew her too well and if she thought about it she knew he'd figure out something was bothering her and that she was hiding it from him. Plus it didn't matter, he'd already forgotten what happened, they could sweep this little incident under the rug with a few good jokes and that would be that. She didn't need to worry about what this would do because it wasn't going to do anything, this wasn't going to make it awkward it was just going to be. She scrubbed her face with too much vigor, hoping somehow that would distract her from dwelling on it anymore, she was pretty sure it wasn't going to happen but she could try anyways. Finishing up in the bathroom she shed her wrinkled clothes and traded them for one of the many long dresses she seemed to live in, even in the winter and put her little slippers back on before she headed downstairs.
Hitting the first floor landing she could still hear the shower going and she toddled off to the kitchen, breakfast was now her mission, though she was surprised that her stomach still had room after all that she had consumed yesterday, she didn't really feel like cooking and really she should wait until after Jay was done because no doubt he'd be hungry too so she opted for a small bowl of cereal. She idled around the kitchen for a while, playing with the food rather then actually eating it before she finally let, it was even harder to not think about him, now. Fabulous. She thought bitterly before she headed into the living room, falling into the couch as carefully she could without upturning her cereal. She jumped a little as she heard his voice, but she tossed a look over her shoulder, and shrugged, "Uhh... well, no.... Not overly." She said shaking her head and brushing a hand through her freshly brushed curls, "Uh, well you ran into a wall, and you couldn't figure out how to put that shirt on," She said, reaching over and tugging at the collar of her shirt that he was wearing, she was trying not o laugh at the memory of it, she wasn't feeling mean enough to irritate his headache. "Other then that... you were completely clueless and being a smartass... So basically just being yourself." She teased dropping her gaze to her cereal bowl and twirling the spoon, "Do you want me to make you anything to eat? Silvia is not here today so it's won't be gourmet, but it'll still be pretty tasty.." She said looking back at him with smile, but not letting her gaze really met his, "My dad actually prefers my omelettes, if that's any recommendation..."
